Meet Susanne

Hello, I am Susanne. Thanks so much for your interest in finding out more about me and Dynamic Change Psychology.
I have experience working with people of all ages including children (from 12 years) and adolescents and older adults. I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families in individual, couples and group therapy settings. I am experienced in assisting clients with a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, PTSD, complex PTSD and personality disorders, as well as relationship, parenting or career-related issues. I use an integrative and strength-based approach to therapy and draw on a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities to meet your individual needs and to assist you to achieve your goals and potential, including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based therapies, somatic and attachment informed approaches, systemic therapies and trauma-focused therapies, and particularly schema therapy and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).

Most importantly, I am open-minded and provide a warm, safe, inclusive and welcoming space so that you can explore any issues and so that you can achieve your therapeutic goals in a safe and encouraging environment.

I am a clinical psychologist. I am a member of the Australian Psychological Association and the EMDR Association of Australia and regularly attend trainings and conferences to improve my therapeutic skills and to stay up to date with the latest developments in assessment and therapy approaches.

I am originally from Germany, but I have been living in Australia for many years. Before moving to Australia, I have lived several years in Asia, mainly in India and Indonesia and have explored a range of mediation and mindfulness practices and approaches.

During my clinical psychology training, I have also spent five months in Alice Springs providing culturally informed psychological care for First Nations women and adolescents. Living and working in different cultures has equipped me with the cultural sensitivity to provide culturally informed psychological support for clients from different cultural backgrounds. In my free time I love the beach, yoga and skiing.

I hope you found this information helpful. If you would like to book an appointment or find out more about how I may be able to assist you please call 0474 473 052. You can also use the contact form or send me an emailI will get back to you as soon as possible (usually within 48 hours, excluding weekends).

I am looking forward to meeting you,

Susanne
